  • Chelsea confirm Thiago Silva will join Fluminense in summer

Chelsea have confirmed that Thiago Silva will leave the club to join Fluminense at the end of the season.

The 39-year-old made the high-profile switch from French giants Paris Saint-Germain to Stamford Bridge during the summer of 2020, looking ahead to the 2020-21 term.

Silva was only originally planning to remain as a Chelsea player for one year, however the defender has enjoyed a four-year spell in West London.

The centre-back was successful in his first term at the club, winning the Champions League for the Blues under the expert stewardship of Thomas Tuchel.

Tottenham 'set asking price for 25-year-old defender'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to sell Emerson Royal for £20m during this summer's transfer window.

Since making the £25.8m switch from Spanish giants Barcelona to North London ahead of the 2021-22 term, the defender has made exactly 100 appearances across all competitions for the Lilywhites.

That being said, Royal has struggled to earn regular first-team action under new Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou during the 2023-24 campaign.

The right-back has fallen down the pecking order for the Lilywhites, starting just 11 Premier League matches as his side chase down a top-four spot.

Real Madrid 'preparing to offer 28-year-old a new contract'

Real Madrid have reportedly taken a difference stance regarding the future of one of their defenders.

Los Blancos are currently on course for a La Liga and Champions League double having already secured the former at the weekend.

Carlo Ancelotti's side have enjoyed a terrific campaign where they have suffered just one defeat in Spain's top flight and possess a stellar defensive record of just 22 goals conceded in 34 matches.

That has come despite the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao and David Alaba missing large chunks of the season due to serious knee injuries.

Spurs, West Ham 'frontrunners for Arsenal, Chelsea-linked striker'

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are reportedly regarded as the frontrunners to sign Brentford forward Ivan Toney.

Having returned from his eight-month betting ban in January, all eyes have been on the England international as he bids to recapture his form from the past two seasons.

As it stands, Toney has only made a mixed impact, contributing four goals and one assist from his 15 appearances in the Premier League.

Furthermore, he does not have a strike to his name since February 17, his level of goalscoring lowering at a time when he is known to be in the shop window.

Four Premier League giants 'interested in 19-year-old Norway international'

Four Premier League giants have reportedly joined the race for Club Brugge attacker Antonio Nusa this summer.

The 19-year-old continues to impress domestically this season, becoming an important first-team figure for his club in the Belgian Pro League.

Nusa has made 27 appearances in the top flight across 2023-24 - starting 15 of those - managing to score three goals and provide three assists for teammates.

The winger started his senior career at Stabaek Football in his homeland before securing the switch to Belgium in the summer of 2021 in order to accelerate his progression.

Summer transfer window 2024: When does it open and close? What deals could be done?

The 2023-24 campaign has almost drawn to a close and clubs across the world will soon be shifting their attention towards the summer transfer window.

Whether they have won the title, secured promotion, endured mid-table mediocrity or suffered relegation, clubs are sure to have already identified top targets to strengthen their squads ahead of delving into the market.

Global spending records were broken in the summer of 2023 as more than £6.5bn was forked out on over 1,600 players, with Premier League (£2.1bn) and Saudi Pro League (£728m) clubs leading the way by splashing out mouthwatering sums.

Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at when the 2024 summer transfer window opens and closes in some of the top leagues across the globe, and picks out some of the high-profile deals that could be completed ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Liverpool 'in no rush to sell misfiring attacker this summer'

Liverpool reportedly have no plans to entertain the sale of Darwin Nunez during the summer transfer window.

Despite Sunday's 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, Liverpool have endured a disappointing end to the 2023-24 campaign.

Prior to the aforementioned win, Jurgen Klopp's side had collected just five points from as many matches, subsequently ending their title challenge.

Part of that has been down to Liverpool's efforts in the final third. Although chances continue to be created with regularity, opportunities have been frequently squandered.

Chelsea eye La Liga goalkeeper as Sanchez upgrade?

Chelsea have reportedly identified a goalkeeper currently competing in La Liga as a potential upgrade on Robert Sanchez.

Last summer, the Blues committed to a deal that could reach £25m in order to acquire the Spain international from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The initial intention had been for Sanchez to act as backup to Kepa Arrizabalaga until the number one made the loan switch to Real Madrid ahead of the first game of the season.

Sanchez was subsequently thrown into the team and made 21 appearances in all competitions before a knee injury led to a spell on the sidelines, subsequently allowing Djordje Petrovic an opportunity in his place.
